Mahira Chishty-Zakiuddin has over 15 years of experience in social work and counseling, beginning with programs such as the Batterer’s Intervention Program in the U.S. She earned her Master’s in Social Work from Columbia University in 2009 and has since dedicated her career to supporting adolescents, parents, and educators through challenges like grief, anxiety, and emotional well-being.
After returning to Pakistan, Mahira balanced private practice with counseling in higher education. In the UAE, she progressed to the role of Director of Counselling at GEMS Wellington and Jumeirah Schools, guIding students and staff with her expertise.
Beyond her professional roles, Mahira advocates for adolescent needs through podcasts, radio shows, and community workshops. She is among the few in the GCC trained to deliver Brene Brown’s “Dare To Lead Teams”™ program, consulting locally and internationally to foster effective leadership and team development.
