Aqueel Ahmed Khan holds PhD in Women Empowerment (1999). He recently completed Stanford University Seed Transformation Program. In past 30 years of career, he has worked as consultant with several bilateral and multi-lateral agencies like ADB, IFC, AIIB involved to assess social risk in project. In 2017 Aqueel decided to promote Mitrata Inclusive Financial Services Ltd a NBFC MFI to ensure that women are not just borrowers/client taking loans rather to ensure they use it for their socio-economic activities. Mitrata believes in innovation and Aqueel led the first financial inclusion innovation for migrant worker from UP, Bihar going to Gulf countries and becoming victim of modern salver. Mitrata has now started supporting small and marginal Farmers to adopt Climate Smart Agriculture practices to promote sustainable agriculture. Aqueel has demonstrated how through financial inclusion we can address the vulnerabilities of communities at bottom of pyramid
