Bio
Gauranga Das is a distinguished spiritual leader, sustainability advocate, and community builder with a B.Tech from IIT Bombay. He serves as the Director of Govardhan Ecovillage, a UNWTO-awarded sustainable community recognized by UNEP, UN ECOSOC, and other UN bodies. He is also the Faith for Earth Counsellor for the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), promoting the intersection of faith and environmental stewardship.
A senior member of ISKCON's Governing Body Commission (GBC), Gauranga Das is responsible for global human resource development and capacity building across ISKCON communities. He also serves as Co-President of ISKCON Chowpatty and Administrative Director of the Bhaktivedanta Research Centre (BRC), which preserves 25,000 ancient Vedic manuscripts and promotes academic research in Indian philosophy.
Through his leadership, Govardhan Ecovillage has launched large-scale social initiatives including over 7 million free meals, eco-restoration of six water bodies, and vocational training for tribal youth. He also leads the Annapoorna Think Tank and contributed to global food policy as Co-Facilitator and Coordinator in the C20 India and C20 Brazil summits.
Gauranga Das is on advisory boards for the Ekatma Dham Project, Rishihood University, and the Central Sanskrit University, and teaches Life Management Skills at IIM Nagpur. He holds the title of IGBC Fellow and has received an Honorary Doctorate from Kaziranga University.
An accomplished author and speaker, he has written four books including The Art of Resilience and Legacy of Community Building in the Bhakti Tradition. He has delivered talks at TEDx and major corporations like Google, Intel, and Salesforce.
