Freda Anyanwu is a multiple award winning entrepreneur and a recognized AI thought leader, strategist, and governance advocate shaping how businesses and institutions across Africa adopt artificial intelligence responsibly.


As the Africa Director at the Global AI Council, she has spearheaded initiatives driving AI innovation, policy readiness, and digital transformation for SMEs, governments, and educational institutions. She is also the creator of impactful programs such as the AI for Africa Ambassadorial Program and the AI Educators Lab, both designed to equip leaders and educators with future-ready skills.


As the Founder of EBH Africa, she led initiatives to support over 4,000 entrepreneurs across 12 countries globally, providing them with capacity building, resources, and tools for growth including fund readiness and access to funding opportunities. With a strong background in entrepreneurship development, innovation management, and ecosystem building, she has supported startups that have collectively contributed millions to local economies.


She is passionate about bridging the gap between technology, governance, and business growth, ensuring that organizations harness AI not just for efficiency and profitability, but also for compliance, ethics, and inclusion. She is a 2022 Mandela Washington Fellow, a fellow of the American Centre for Artificial Intelligence, and has attained several awards and achievements for her contributions to advancing technology and innovation across Africa.
