Bio
Dr. Kaiser Raja is a distinguished Hepatologist, Gastroenterologist, and Transplant Specialist with over two decades of international experience in the management of complex liver diseases and transplant medicine. He currently serves as the Clinical Director of the Institute of Gastroenterology and Hepatology at King’s College Hospital London, Dubai, where he also leads the city’s first comprehensive liver transplant program. A pioneer in the field, Dr. Raja was part of the team that performed Dubai’s first liver transplantation and continues to advance hepatology services across the UAE.
Dr. Raja completed his residency in Internal Medicine and fellowship in Gastroenterology and Hepatology at the prestigious Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER), Chandigarh, India. To further his expertise, he pursued an ACGME-accredited Advanced Fellowship in Liver Diseases and Transplant Hepatology at Mount Sinai Medical Centre, New York, one of the world’s leading centers for liver care and transplantation.
His clinical expertise spans a wide spectrum of liver conditions including cirrhosis, hepatitis, fatty liver disease, autoimmune and metabolic liver disorders, as well as liver and pancreatobiliary cancers. He has also pioneered integrative treatment strategies for fatty liver disease, combining medical innovation with lifestyle interventions.
Throughout his career in India, North America, and the Middle East, Dr. Raja has combined academic excellence with a patient-centered philosophy. In India, he played a key role in establishing one of South India’s largest liver transplant programs and co-founded the Integrated Liver Care (ILC) Foundation, which continues to drive education, awareness, and access to organ transplantation.
An advocate for patient empowerment, Dr. Raja also established the UAE’s first liver disease support group, creating a platform for patients and families to share experiences, seek guidance, and build resilience.
