Dr. Rowland Oliver Illing is the Chief Medical Officer and Director of Healthcare and Life Sciences at Amazon Web Services (AWS), leading global strategy and engagement across providers, payors, biopharmaceuticals, medical device companies, and technology partners. He focuses on leveraging cloud technologies and innovations, including generative AI, to enhance efficiency, research, and patient outcomes.

An Academic Interventional Radiologist, Dr. Illing previously directed the Interventional Oncology Service at University College Hospitals London and serves as Honorary Associate Professor at UCL and Visiting Professor at Oxford University. He also represents AWS in the US National Academy of Medicine Leadership Consortium and sits on the HIMSS Global Board of Directors.

Recognized internationally, he has delivered over 150 presentations and is affiliated with the Royal College of Surgeons of England, Royal College of Radiologists, Royal Society of Medicine, and the UK Faculty of Medical Leadership and Management.
